His love for the ocean and its interaction with the land have led him to pursue a degree in Marine Sciences from Richard Stockton College, where he graduated in 1998. Since then, Chris has enjoyed a career trying to understand the two and finding a balance to protect New Jersey’s coastal resources, infrastructure and the recreational values that have brought many of us to the shore. Chris has been an Environmental Specialist at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Coastal Engineering in Toms River for over 9 years and prior to that he was a research assistant at the Richard Stockton College Coastal Research Center for 7 years. His interest in the environment and trying to protect what natural resources are left in the Borough, have driven him to become involved with Borough’s Environmental Commission and Climate Action Committee; he has been a member since 2005 and 2007, respectively. Being a part of these two advisory groups, have allowed him to interact with the mayor and council, other advisory groups, educators, and residents to understand their concerns and spread the missions of the Environmental Commission and the Climate Action Committee. Chris is currently the chairman of the Environmental Commission. During his free time, Chris is enjoying time with his wife Kim and their dog Eddy, hanging out with family and friends, bodyboarding at his favorite local breaks, and savoring the tastes of craft beers and good food.
