Westfield Regional Health Department Offers Lung Cancer Screening

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States.

The Westfield Regional Health Department in conjunction with Saint Barnabas Medical Center is offering a free high-risk lung cancer screening at 6 pm on  Thursday, June 13, 2013.  The program is free and registration is requested as seating is limited.  To register, please call 1-888-724-7123 or visit www.barnabashealthcalendar.org/sbmc.  The screening will take place at the Westfield Municipal  Building in the Community Room, 425 East Broad Street. The community room can be entered from East Broad Street. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. It is most curable when diagnosed at an early stage. Free Hearing Screening Thursday at Westfield Regional Health Department

The Westfield Regional Health Department and Overlook Hospital are offering a free hearing screening on Thursday, February 21, 2013.  The screening is from 10 am to 12 noon at the Westfield Municipal Building.  For information and pre registration please contact Customer Service Community Health Department at Overlook Hospital at 1-800-247-9580.

'Tis The Season For Seasonal Flu Vaccinations

Westfield Regional Health Department is hosting clinics this week in Westfield, Mountainside for those who want a flu shot.

The Westfield Regional Health Department has scheduled seasonal Flu Inoculation Programs, open only to residents of Cranford, Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, New Providence, Roselle Park, Springfield, Summit and Westfield. Proof of residency may be required. Participants will be taken on a first come/first serve basis. There will be a $10 charge for all non-Medicare participants. While other dates will be scheduled, two clinics are coming up this week: Wednesday, Sept. 19, Westfield Municipal Building, 425 East Broad St., (Court Room), 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, Mountainside Municipal Building, 1385 Rt. 22 East, (Court Room), to p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Anyone that is Medicare Part B eligible must please bring their card to the …
