[PHOTO] St. Agnes Students Celebrate Earth Day

Middle school students made "Earth Day Resolutions" to pledge what they could do to help the Earth.

This release was provided by St. Agnes School. Students at St Agnes School in Clark celebrated Earth Day by collecting trash around school and church grounds. Students also planted flowers, completed classroom activities and science experiments all in the theme of protecting Earth. The middle school students made "Earth Day Resolutions" to pledge what they could do to help the Earth. They also made recycled magazine seed starter pots.

St. Agnes to Host Young Pianists Concert, Feb. 24

One of the performers is an 8th grade student at St Agnes, who will was recently chosen to perform in Vienna by the American Concert Alliance.

This release was submitted by St. Agnes School. St Agnes School in Clark will host a benefit concert for the school on February 24, 2013 at 3pm. Join us for an inspiring afternoon of music by young musical talents. Three young pianists who have recently won gold prizes at International Music & Arts Society Young Artist Competition will be performing.  The St Agnes repertoire will be filled with masterpieces by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Debussy and Rachmaninoff. The ticket rewards program helps reinforce positive behavior.

This release was submitted by St. Agnes School. First grade students at St. Agnes School in Clark enjoy the The "CAUGHT YOU BEING GOOD" Ticket rewards program!  This unique program helps reinforce positive behavior.  Students caught making good choices are awarded  a ticket.  The tickets are redeemed once a week at the "CAUGHT YOU BEING GOOD" Rewards Store in the classroom.  Arianna Angel was one of many who enjoyed trading her tickets in today.

Local veterans were invited to the school's ceremony.

This release was submitted by St. Agnes School. Students at St. Agnes School in Clark held special Verteran's Day ceremony on November 12th to honor all Veterans including family members of students. Ten local veterans attended the ceremony while the schools' choir sang several patriotic songs.

[PHOTO] St. Agnes First Graders Create Time Capsules

Students listed their hopes for the year.

This release was submitted by St. Agnes School. Students in First Grade at St Agnes School in Clark created their own time capsules. Each student brought in a recent photo and completed card about what they hope to accomplish in first grade. The capsules will be stored until the end of the year at which time the students  will open the capsule. It'll be interesting to see how much appearances have changed and how much they have grown.

St. Agnes School Celebrates Anti-Bullying Week

After a week-long anti-bullying awareness program, St. Agnes students were allowed to dress down and wear bold colors to celebrate their individuality and respect for each other.

St. Agnes School finished up Anti-Bullying week with a BE BOLD… BE YOURSELF dress down day for students.  After a week-long anti-bullying awareness program, St. Agnes students were allowed to dress down to support BE BOLD day.  They were asked to wear bold colors to celebrate their individuality and respect for each other. St. Agnes School spent the whole week promoting awareness of their ANTI-BULLYING program.  They began the week with displaying their Pinwheels for Peach project in front of their school along with a pajama day (Give Bullying a Rest), hat day (Put a Lid on Bullying), as well as taking an anti-bullying pledge and a demonstration by USA KARATE SCHOOL safety experts. …

PHOTO: St. Agnes Celebrates Spirit Week

Students get planting.

With the help of their neighbors from Schieferstein Farm Market and Garden in Clark and Anthony Pafumi Contractors in Westfield, St. Agnes School decorated the entrance of the building by planting two trees complete and blooming flowers. Starting with an Earth Day fundraiser, the Student Council lead a blessing ceremony for the newly planted trees alongside Father Dennis Surban. The program was lead by Christina Fuentes and Nicole Martinez.

Rides and games and treats, oh my!

The rain held off and folks came out to play. Night one of the St. Agnes carnival was a hit, complete with rides, games and food at the elementary school and church on Madison Hill Road in Clark. The carnival will continue through Saturday, May 12. Carnival hours are as follows: Wednesday & Thursday, May 9 & 10: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 11: 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 12th: 12 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. In past years, St. Agnes held an indoor boardwalk with food and games. This year a full-blown outdoor carnival is set with rides for all ages including a ferris wheel, dragon wagon, dizzy dragons, obstacle course and bounce house, kids bounce house, "Zero Gravity" (a spinning centrifuge-like ride), "Vertigo" (an 85' swing tower) 1001 Nachts…

The first-ever event runs through Saturday.

St. Agnes is hosting their first-ever carnival, complete with rides, games and food starting today at 6 p.m. tonight. The carnival will continue through Saturday, May 12. Carnival hours are as follows: Wednesday & Thursday, May 9 & 10: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 11: 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 12th: 12 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. In past years, St. Agnes held an indoor boardwalk with food and games.
