NJ golfers support fifth “Fore the Children” charity golf event.

This press release was submitted by Children's Specialized Hospital. An incredible 550 golfers turned out September 11, 2012, for the fifth annual L’Oréal USA “Fore the Children” charity golf event, which raised $550,000 to benefit the Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. This year’s fundraising adds to the $1.45 million raised by L’Oréal USA since 2008. Hosted by L’Oréal USA Corporate Operations North America, based in Clark, the outing took place at two area golf clubs, Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, and Fox Hollow Golf Course in Branchburg. On June 21 and 22, employees from L’Oréal USA, based in Clark, Berkeley Heights and Franklin, visited two Children’s Specialized Hospital sites as part of their annual “Employee Volunteer Day of Service.” On Thursday, 40 employees joined the hospital in Mountainside to wash vehicles, sanitize toys, paint rocking chairs, organize the clothing closets and drawers in patient rooms on the long term care unit and helped beautify the wheelchair accessible playground. On Friday, 25 employees decorated display shadowboxes at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital – New Brunswick. L’Oreal in Clark recently treated the Clark Senior Citizens to a day of beauty. About 25 L’Oreal employees assisted the Clark Seniors applying their makeup including face and nails, plus explaining various new products. They employees were all volunteers and they also sent the seniors off with a bag full of makeup. This has been a yearly tradition for the last three years, which the seniors look forward to, said Clark Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo.

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) and L’Oréal USA officials will hold a news conference on Monday, May 7 to discuss H.R. 4395, legislation authored by the Seventh District lawmaker to help create jobs and spur innovation by updating current federal regulations for the cosmetics and personal care industry. Lance, who serves on the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, said his bill would modernize the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act with reasonable, science based reforms to help companies, like L’Oréal USA, who are seeking to innovate, create new products and grow their businesses, all of which will help create jobs. If you consider changing hairdressers an act equal to cheating on your spouse, then read no further. But, if you want an expert stylist to wash that gray right out of your hair, using only professional products, and not pay a single penny for it--then listen up gals and guys. For nearly two years, I have been going to the L’Oréal Product Evaluation Center in Clark, New Jersey, where I receive complimentary hair color, shampoo, conditioning, and usually a blow dry.
