Obituary: Longtime Garwood Resident Carolyn Ruth Hoover
Hoover moved to Garwood in 1950 with her husband where they raised two sons, William and James.
On Monday, January 14, 2013, Carolyn Ruth (Yawger) Hoover succumbed to cardiac deficiencies. At the time of her death she was enrolled in Solari Hospice and was cared for at St. Anne’s Residential Care Home, both of Las Vegas, NV. Carolyn was born in Elizabeth NJ, to Elsie and Frederick Yawger July of 1922. She grew up in the borough of Richmond, Staten Island, NYC, NY. Attending Curtis High School, she was graduated a year early as an exceptional student. Carolyn attended Columbia University, Presbyterian Hospital, School of Nursing. As a graduate nurse she worked at Bellevue Hospital in the emergency department and the Staten Island Hospital as a ward Nurse.
