[PHOTOS] Clark Rec's Haunted House at the Robinson Plantation

More than 500 people attended the first ever haunted house.

More than 500 people attended Clark Recreation's Haunted House at the Robinson Plantation on Oct. 27. The haunted walk-through built by JPZ entertainment featured costumed performers who led visitors through the haunted theatrical sets placed within black framed tents. In addition to the haunted house, guests were treated to candelit tours of the Robinson Museum, donuts, cider and pumpkins.

PHOTOS: Dr. Robinson Plantation's Fourth Annual Living History Weekend

The event brought reenactors and more to the historic site and museum on Madison Hill Road.

The fourth annual Living History Weekend held Saturday and Sunday at the Dr. Robinson Plantation fell on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War this year, according to event organizer Scott McCabe. The volunteers who organized the event saw a huge success as the Living History weekend hosted live battles and candlelight tours. As reenactors spread themselves throughout the plantation in traditional Civil War era costumes, an audience came to enjoy the experience. “I really enjoy seeing all the people learn about the Civil War through enactors,” McCabe said during the event. “The weather held out and it’s going to be a beautiful weekend, the crowd is building.” The reenactment companies were housed in tents and shared their camp with cooks…

Living History Weekend Returns to Clark's Dr. Robinson Plantation

The fourth annual event features reenactors, period players and a skirmish like those fought in the Civil War.

This weekend, on June 2 and 3, Clark will be transformed into a battlefield. Black powder smoke and the sounds of muskets cracking will fill the air around the Dr. Robinson Plantation and nearby Esposito Park during the Clark Historical Society's Living History Weekend. Several groups of Civil War reenactors will make camp at the Plantation and hold demonstrations and skirmishes all weekend. Festivities will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The site will play host to the 2nd Rhode Island, 3rd New Jersey and 7th Virginia regiments, totaling about 35 reenactors.
