The truck became ensnared in the lines while making a turn, according to witnesses.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a Santos Landscaping dump truck laying mulch at St. Agnes Church in Clark snagged phone wires and tipped over onto its passenger side. Clark Police and Fire and Union County Hazmat teams responded to the scene. The driver was able to exit from the tipped truck with only scratches, according to other Santos employees at the scene. They say the truck had its bed raised as it was making the turn and the bed caught the phone lines and pulled the truck slowly over onto its passenger side, right before a telephone pole. A St. Agnes employee said she heard a big crash and breaking glass. When she came out she saw the driver had climbed out and called an ambulance for him. Fellow employees say the driver was okay and…

The firefighters also explained how their turnout gear protects them from getting hurt. Firefighters also gave tips on fire prevention and evacuation plans. After the demonstration, the girls were eager to take a tour of a fire truck. The fire began at about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the basement of the old Burry Biscuits factory. At 4:47 a.m. Thursday, the blaze was upgraded to seven-alarm status after explosions and heavy smoke conditions were reported. Officials said no injuries have …
