Old A&P Will Be a New Supermarket, Says Clark BA

Clark Business Administrator John Laezza previously reported that he had heard there was interest from buyers on the vacant former A&P building on Westfield Avenue. At Monday night's council meeting, Laezza told those gathered that the property will be another supermarket, though he could not yet reveal who the exact tenant would be. The property has been vacant for 12 years. Last April, we polled readers on what they'd like to see take over the space. Thirty-two percent voted for "retail," while 30 percent chose "other" and 25 percent chose "another supermarket."
