The Democratic candidates won two seats for Garwood council in the November election.

This letter was received by Garwood Democrats Bill Nierstedt and Ann Palmer. Please accept this letter as a sincere thank you to everyone who played a role in our election to the Garwood Borough Council. We thank the Garwood voters who believe in and voted for us.   We value the trust that you have placed in us, and look forward to advancing the improved government and municipal services that you advised us in our door-to-door, face to face conversations were important to you.  We listened, took notes, and will follow through as best we can. Garwood Candidates React to Council Election Results

Democrats Bill Nierstedt and Ann Palmer have won the two available seats on Garwood borough council.

It was the Democrats who pulled off a win again this year in Garwood. Democratic candidates Bill Nierstedt and Ann Palmer beat incumbent Tim Hak and newcomer Mike Martin for three-year terms on borough council. This win changes the voting makeup of council from a 50/50 split of Democrats and Republicans to a Democratic majority. Garwood Democrats Announce Meet and Greet the Candidates Evening

The event kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19.

The Garwood Democratic Party has scheduled a ‘Meet and Greet the candidates’ evening at the Knights of Columbus, 37 South Avenue, from 5:00 – 8:00PM on Friday, October 19.   (Please enter through the Willow Avenue parking lot) Borough Council Democratic candidates Ann Palmer and Bill Nierstedt will be available to answer questions, discuss concerns and speak one-on-one with residents.   They promise that no speeches will be made!  Volunteers will be cooking up hot dogs, sauerkraut, beans, and all the fixings’ in an Oktoberfest type of event.   Birch beer and desserts will also be available.  A fee of $7.50 per person, and $5.00 per senior or child will be charged.  Beer will be available for purchase at the Knights of Columbus bar.   Bring…
