The Crusader Bowling team captured the Group I State Championship this year for the first time in 28 years.
This release was submitted by the Clark School District. The Arthur L. Johnson Bowling Team was honored by the Clark School District’s Board of Education on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. The Crusader Bowling team captured the Group I State Championship this year for the first time in 28 years. In addition, this year Johnson also won the Watchung Conference, the Union County Championship, and the Group 1 Sectional State Tournament for a “three-peat” performance. Johnson was also ranked #6 in the Star Ledger’s Top 20 poll. The players and coaches were called up and received certificates celebrating their wonderful achievements. This release was submitted by the Clark School District. The Johnson Bowling Team is dusting off the old 1985 banner and making room for the new Group 1 State Championship banner! Yes, it’s been 28 years since a bowling team brought home a Group Title. Johnson took the lead after the 1st game and never looked back. They beat the 2nd place team Lyndhurst by 221 pins. Junior Bobby Weisensee led the way with a 693 series for the day. Junior Steven Kotowski had the team high game with a 255 and a 661 series and Senior Vincent DiGeronimo wasn’t far behind with a 623 series. This release was submitted by the Clark Schools District. The Arthur L. Johnson Varsity Bowling Team is on a “roll” again! For the 3rd straight season Johnson has won two titles and is ranked #6 in the Star Ledger’s Top 20 poll. At the end of regular season play Johnson clinched the Watchung Conference title and finished with a record of 12-1 losing only to Linden the #2 team in Union County. This year Johnson also won the Union County Championship, also a “three-peat” performance. The crusade was led by Seniors Vincent DiGeronimo, Captain Danny Levitz and Junior Steven Kotowski all whom also qualified for the UCT individual tournament. Danny Levitz finished 2nd in the county by 6 pins. Levitz rolled the tournament’s high game of 256 …
