High-profile Clifton attorney Miles Feinstein said he will make a decision by the end of this week as to whether he will represent Caleb McGillvary, aka Kai the Hitchhiker, in the murder of Clark resident Joseph Galfy. "There are some things about the case that interest me," Feinstein told Patch. "My investigator went to see him, and I'm going to see him this week." Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb says the town hopes to keep the road somewhat open as the work begins, but big signs at either end of Westfield Avenue warn that the road could be closed beginning in early July.

Garwood Won't Fight Westfield Townhome Development

Garwood will not try to thwart the construction of a 16-unit townhome development planned for the Westfield side of Myrtle Avenue, though several residents on the border are concerned about the project's impact on drainage and flooding in the area. At Tuesday's meeting, after a 30-minute executive session, Borough Attorney Joseph Renaud announced that the council, on his advisement, will bow out from the fight.
