Open house networking event at GolfCave: Business professionals are invited tonetwork for a cause at this open house event on Tuesday night that includes golfing, giveaways, entertainment, contests and prizes. A $5 entrance fee goes to prostate cancer research. 

Mr. Big singer plays Crossroads: Eric Martin, the voice of 90s-favorite band Mr. Big, will perform at Crossroads on Saturday.

Sports recruiting expert talks to parents and students at ALJ: Student-athletes at Arthur L. Johnson High School and their parents will get a dose of reality about the world of college recruiting from keynote speaker Jack Renkens on Monday night. Renkens will share with the audience the lessons he’s learned during many years as a high school and college coach, athletic director and parent of a high school athlete. Read our story on Renkens's visit in 2011. 

Jazz It Up at Hyatt Hills Pub: Come hear live jazz music on the last Wednesday of each month at Jazz It Up at Hyatt Hills Pub. This week features the swing era sounds of the David Aaron Trio.

Councilman Mathieu holds re-election fundraiser: All Garwood residents are invited to a barbecue for the re-election of Jim Mathieu to Garwood Council. The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 324 Pine Avenue, Garwood.
