Election Day, Three Live Music Events, Clark Council Meeting This Week

What's going on in Clark and Garwood this week.

Election Day: Tuesday is election day. In Garwood, three candidates will battle for two council seats. Clark does not have any local elections this year. Check out our election guide, here.

Clark Council meets: Clark council meets for their November workshop meeting on Monday at 7:30 p.m in room 30 at the municipal building. Check out the meeting agenda, here. 

Tin Pan Alley Cats Concert at Clark Library: Get ready to take a nostalgic trip back to the heyday of Tin Pan Alley's musicians and lyricists on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Singer and vintage guitar master Ken Lelen will be serenading guests with the great American songs of that era, including works by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, the Gershwins and others. Registration is not required.

Rat Pack tribute at the Garwood Library: Joel and Francine Zelnick will present a tribute to the "Rat Pack" featuring songs of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, and others, re-introducing the great hits of the 50s and 60s. Thursday, 7 p.m. Registration is required for this event. 

Wind band performs at Temple Beth O'r/Beth Torah: Majestic Winds, the professional wind band of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, will perform a program "From Renaissance to Ragtime" featuring music by Richard Rogers, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, John Philip Sousa and others. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.  

"Click and Connect" at the Clark Library: Be introduced to computers, begin exploring the internet, and start using email – all before the Thanksgiving holiday. This 1 and 1/2-hour class will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Thursday for four consecutive weeks. Registration may be done by calling the library at 732-388-5999 or online at www.clarklibrary.org.
