Cell Phone Tower Discussion, Concert at Garwood Library This Week

What's happening this week in Clark and Garwood.

From Monday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 15:

Clark Zoning Board to discuss cell phone tower at Access Self Storage: The Clark Zoning Board will discuss an application for a 130-foot monopole. Monday, 8 p.m.
Milk and cookies story time at Clark Library: Stories, a simple craft and a light snack. This program is not recommended for children with food allergies and is for children ages 4 through 8 years old. Registration is required. Monday, 3:30 p.m.

Clark BOE meets: The Clark Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. in Clark Council chambers. Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Garwood council meets: Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in borough hall. Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Intergenerational concert at Garwood Library:The Outreach Group of the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra will provide an evening of light classical music performed by a variety of musicians including a wide age range of performers. The program is free, however, registration is required. Wednesday, 7 p.m.

Holiday sparkling extravaganza at Rosie's Wine Bar: More than 35 Champagne and sparkling wines, plus at least another 25 still and dessert wines to taste. Passed appetizers in addition to a light buffet. Wednesday, 5 p.m. till midnight. 

GWACC networking breakfast: 
The Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (of which Garwood is a member) will host a networking breakfast at Blue Sky Cafe in WestfieldThursday, 8 a.m. 

Valley Road holiday shoppe: Valley Road School is having their annual Holiday Shoppe on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There are more than 30 vendors participating. Admission is free. Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Ugly sweater Christmas party at Oh' Brian's: Wear your "ugly Christmas sweater, and your craziest Christmas hats, scarves, socks and mittens to this party at Oh' Brian's. Friday, 6 p.m.

Flamenco guitar at Crossroads: Flamenco guitarist David Cohen joins the Pat Dinizio show at Crossroads on Friday. The show is a celebration of Dinizio’s 33 years in music and founding of the platinum recording artists the Smithereens. Cohen's set will consist of traditional flamenco as well as original music from his CD. Friday, 8 p.m.

Teen defensive driving program partners with ALJ: Drive Safer, the leading provider and advocate of driving safety for teens and adults, is hosting a driver safety training program at Raceway Park in Englishtown. Sunday, 10 a.m.

Center for Dance Education presents annual Nutcracker show: Join the Clark school for this time honored holiday tradition featuring dancers, music, costumes and lighting, for children and adults. $23 per ticket. 1 p.m. matinee or 5 p.m. evening show. Sunday, 1 p.m.

Sinatra dinner and show at Temple Beth O'r/Beth Torah: An entertaining evening on the life of one of the most renowned singers of the 20th century. A spaghetti and meatball dinner will be served. Tickets are $24. Sunday, 5 p.m.
