9/11 in Clark: Clark will hold their annual 9/11 memorial service at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday at James A. Nelson Memorial Park on Broadway and Grant. Nelson, 40, was a Port Authority police officer and lived in Clark with his wife Roseanne and two daughters Anne and Caitlin. Nelson died while working at the scene to save others when the towers collapsed.
Sen. Rand Paul to visit: The Kentucky senator and potential presidential candidate will visit on Friday to campaign for Steve Lonegan in his bid for U.S. Senate. Paul will attend a fundraising event with Lonegan at Gran Centurions on Madison Hill Road. At 12:30 p.m., the public is invited to join in a support rally.
Garwood council meeting: Garwood council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. On the agenda is appointing Lt. Douglas Stoffer as Captain of the Garwood Police Department.
Halfway to St. Patty's: Hyatt Hills Pub (formerly Senorita's) will hold a halfway to St. Patrick's Day party on Saturday. There will be a variety of food, live music, bagpipes, Irish dancers, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the Emerald Society and more.
Greater Westfield Area chamber networking event: The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking breakfast Tuesday at the Westfield Diner at 8 a.m. Current and prospective members are welcome.
Teen locker decorating program: Today the Clark Library presents a "locker accessories program." Teens can get ready for the school year by designing their own unique accessories to use in their school lockers. Snacks will be served!
