Clark Pool Beautified for Eagle Scout Project

Agostinho, who has been in scouting from age 7, planned the entire project and sought out donations.

For his Eagle Scout project, Daniel Agostinho, a Scotch Plains resident and member of Boy Scout Troop 330 from Clark/Linden chose to take on the beautification of the Clark Community Pool.

The two-full-day project included the building of two retaining walls at the entrance to the pool including planting of perennial flowers, installing rocks and mulch and the nice addition of flags on either side of the main gates. On the street level near the Clark Community Pool entrance sign, the volunteers removed weeds, garbage, brush, poison ivy and installed decorative rocks, mulch and flowers. Curb and arrows were painted in the entrance areas.

Agostinho, who has been in scouting from age 7, planned out the layout, sought out donations and executed the work by leading scout volunteers and parents. Agostinho was guided by Troop leaders, John Diorio and Patrick Peccaro.

The Clark Community Pool turns 40 years old next year, so this was done just in time to be ready for the big birthday celebration next season.

Agostinho would like to that the following local businesses for their generous donations: Bartell Farm and Garden Supply, Ace Hardware, Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Parker Gardens and Schieferstein Farm Market & Garden Center and all the volunteers that made this project a success.

Agostinho is expected to receive his Eagle Scout Award by the end of this year.
