Saturday, May 5, is “Relay Blitz Weekend”. Cancer survivors and ACS volunteers will be set up in various "hot spots" along Wesfield Avenue in Clark, and at ShopRite to educate and invite those interested in supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.

One way to identify a Relay Blitz Hot Spot is to look for a table or station decorated in purple, the signature color of Relay For Life. These stations will be set up in outside local shops, eateries, and businesses with balloons and purple ribbons giving out information on the Relay For Life of Clark.

Volunteers at each location will have printed information available explaining Relay For Life in detail, and will be available to assist those who are interested in registering for the upcoming event. Volunteers at all stations will accept donations from those who wish to support the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society.

“We hope to excite and rally the community in support of this amazing event coming up in June,” says Christina Andrascik, Director of Special Events at the American Cancer Society.

There is also a house decorating contest happening to promote the event as well. Relay For Life participants can enter their house in a decorating contest by filling out the entry form on the website (www.relayforlife.org/clarknj).  Decorating will take place May 1-5 with judging happening on May 5 from 4 p.m. – 6p.m.
