Community Access Unlimited Walk-a-thon and Fun Run

Join Community Access Unlimited for a day of fun, food and music at Community Access Unlimited’s 13th Annual Ira Geller Memorial Walk-a-thon and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Rahway River Park. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with the official start of the walk/run at noon. A picnic and other festivities will immediately follow. All proceeds will benefit people with special needs in achieving real lives in the community. This year’s fundraiser aims to raise $40,000 through corporate sponsorships, walk team contributions, and the generous donations of individuals throughout the community. Each walker and runner is asked to raise $100.

Community Access Unlimited (CAU), celebrating its 32nd anniversary in 2011, supports people with special needs in achieving real lives in the community. CAU provides support and gives a voice to adults and youth who traditionally have had little support and no voice in society.

CAU helps people with housing, life skills, employment, money management, socialization and civic activities. CAU also supports opportunities for advocacy through training in assertiveness, decision-making and civil rights. CAU serves more than 3,500 individuals each year.
