Clark Girls Softball Hosts Open Registration, Winter Clinics

The league is open to all girls in grades K-8, who reside in Clark, Garwood and Winfield, or who attend private school in Clark.

This release was submitted by the Clark Girls Softball League.

The Clark Girls Softball League is happy to announce winter registration for the 2013 season will be on Sunday, January 13 at the Brewer Recreational Center (Clark Municipal Building) from 6 PM - 8 PM on both days.

The league is open to all girls in grades K-8, who reside in Clark, Garwood and Winfield, or who attend private school in Clark Township. The 2013 season is to begin in mid-March and runs to early June.

CGSB president, Bill Smith, cites the 2012 season as one of the league’s most successful seasons with nearly 300 girls participating on 28 teams.

“Last season we saw a growth in all areas of the association, not only on the field, but in the stands too. And, we are looking forward to building on the success of this past season by increasing the number of teams in each division, especially the Instructional League (grades K-1),” said Smith.

Additionally, the league is hosting winter instructional clinics on January 13, 20 and 27 at the Brewer Recreational Center. The girls will go through a series of fielding, hitting and field safety drills.

Times are as followed:

-       6:15 – 7:15 Minor League (back gym)*

-       6:30 – 7:30 Instructional & Pee Wee Leagues (front gym)

-       7:30 – 8:30 Major League (back gym)*

*$30 fee for 4 weeks of Minor and Major League clinics

Registration forms can be obtained at the time of registration or from the CGSB website; www.eteamz.com/CGSB.
