The Weekender: Clark Family Skate Night and Kids Read to Pups in Garwood

Saturday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m. -
The is hosting "Paws to Read." Once again, the dogs from St. Hubert's animal shelter will be at the library, anxiously waiting to be read to by children in third grade and up. Saturday, Jan. 21, 6 to 8 p.m. -
Gather your family, friends and neighbors for an evening of fun as the Recreation Department has again rented the Warinanco Skating Arena for the Township of Clark. The doors will be closed to the public. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children and $3 for skate rental.

Sunday, Jan. 22, 12 p.m. -
along withwill celebrate the feast of their patron saint with a dedication mass and celebration of the newly constructed Community Center. The Most Rev. Manuel A. Cruz, regional bishop for Union County, will preside and preach the 12 p.m. mass. Bishop Cruz will then lead the procession to the Community Center for a special blessing. The new Community Center also serves as a brand new gymnasium for the St. Agnes School students. The Clark Knights of Columbus #5503 will host a free throw contest for children ages 10-14. After his leading lady (and fiancee) commits suicide, Alex Dennison is left heartbroken and believes she was actually murdered. On the anniversary of her death, he gathers the cast and crew of his last play in an old Broadway theatre in order to find out what really happened that fateful night.

Sunday, Jan. 22, 9 a.m. -
“Beyond Just Riding” is a series of five winter clinics being offered on Sundays at Watchung Stable. Participants, ages nine through adult, are invited to register for as many clinics as they would like. Each “Beyond Just Riding” session will last two hours and will focus on one of a variety of horse and horsemanship topics. All riding levels are welcome.  The clinics will be held in the barn or the lecture area of the stable.
