Teacher's Dad, a Vietnam Vet, Talks to Students About Memorial Day

kTV filmed and broadcasted the presentation. Watch it here.

On May 29, 2013 Social Studies teacher Elisa O'Neill had her father, Retired Sergeant Major Edward F. Neas of the United States Marine Corps, come to Carl H. Kumpf Middle School to speak to the students of the school about the importance of Memorial Day.

With the help of Matthew Serwedes, the teacher for kTv, and his tv class, the entire school was able to view the presentation live through the televisions in their classrooms.

Students had an opportunity to learn the history of the holiday and why it is more than just a day off for BBQs. Students had also asked questions about Sergeant Major Neas' experience in Vietnam, what is was like to be a Marine, and what it was like to lose friends of his during war.
