Sheep Shearing, Fish Frying and an Early Dismissal

Kids get a half day, fried fish in Garwood, and livestock find their way to Clark.

  1. Kick off the first day of spring on Sunday by enjoying the beautiful sunny weather outdoors at the Dr. Robinson Plantation in Clark.  Visitors of all ages will enjoy the program “,” during which real sheep will be sheared and the process of how wool becomes a woven garment will be demonstrated.    
  2. All after a half day/four-hour school session.  Teachers will remain at school for an in-service afternoon session.  No school lunches will be served.
  3. The at Council Hall tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.  Dinner includes fish, french fries, cole slaw, dessert and coffee.  Advance tickets are $12; $15 at the door.  Dine in or take out.
  4. On Saturday at 7:30 p.m.,  with a costume parade, contests, lots of food, fun, and their famous Ice Cream Social.  Bring boxes of pasta to use as  noisemakers during the reading of Megillat Esther, and then to donate to the food pantry.  This temple party is for the entire family.
  5. Haven’t had your fill of Irish cheer this week?  Then come to the Saturday evening at 7.  Traditional Irish fare will be served, including corned beef and cabbage with all the sides, soda, water, coffee, tea, beer and wine.  The Mickey Perry Band, Peter Smith School of Irish Step Dance and Central Jersey Police and Fire Pipes and Drums will entertain you while you eat.  Babysitting will also be available.
