PHOTOS: Johnson Cheerleaders Go to Camp

This year's squad honed their skills at a workshop held by the National Cheerleaders Association.

On Aug. 2 and 3, the Arthur L. Johnson varsity cheerleaders attended a skills camp at the Central Jersey Athletic Center held by the National Cheerleaders Assocation.

The camp focused on working together as a team, learning new and improved stunts and pyramid building, and strengthening jumps. At the camp, nine Johnson cheerleaders were selected to tryout for NCA All-American team: Jessica Zambrana, DeAnna Bove, Jamie Horvath, MaryKate Lavan, Amanda Ciccone, Carly Koppel, Alison Dugan, Samantha Bruno and Alexa Cupo. Dugan and Cupo qualified.

At the conclusion of camp, the Johnson cheerleaders performed and were evaluated on a routine perfected during the instructional time, and were awarded the title of "Superior."
