PHOTO: ALJ Class of '61 Starts Alumni Scholarship Fund

For their 50th anniversary, group decides to give back.

The class of ’61 celebrated their 50th reunion recently. The reunion team worked hard and had fun locating and contacting classmates; their efforts resulted in an event-filled weekend.

A 50/50 raffle, held during the dinner dance, dedicated the proceeds to inaugurating an Alumni Scholarship Fund. At a celebration luncheon, the class of '61 presented the first check to Rick Delmonaco, Arthur L. Johnson High School principal.

The group hopes that the Alumni Scholarship Fund will be sustained through the continuing contributions of alumni, individually or collectively through alumni events.
