Mother Seton Regional High School, Clark, will present “Godspell” as its annual musical production. Performances are scheduled for November 16 and 17 at 7:30pm on campus. The play is based on The Gospel according to Saint Matthew, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.
Prominent roles in the Mother Seton Production of “Godspell” are played by the following students: Catherine Bialkowski, Clifton, Jocelyn Brown, Orange, Hannah Clark, Scotch Plains, Janeclare McCann, Cranford, Kandace Moore, West Orange, Katie Newton, Middlesex, Bria Pendar, Newark and Catherine Serzan, Westfield. Noah Belmont, Cranford, is cast as Jesus and Kenneth Marples, Elizabeth, portrays the role of John the Baptist/Judas.
The school production is directed by Christine Danelson, who is a 2005 graduate of Mother Seton and a resident of Clark, NJ. During high school, she captured leading roles each year. She was also very active in Forensics competition and placed 4th nationally in Declamation. Following graduation from Mother Seton, Christine starred as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway First National Tour of “Hairspray’” a role she reprised a the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn. She also has stage credits off-broadway as well. Christine attended Kean University with a full scholarship awarded from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. She studied classical voce and graduated in 2010 cum laude.
Since returning from tour and during college, Christine has appeared on television in Law & Order in supporting roles, in feature and independent films. Currently, Christine is employed as a paralegal at an Intellectual Property Law Firm in Iselin. She participates in community theater shows around New Jersey. She also gives voice lesion in her spare time.
Tickets may be purchased at the door. Ticket costs for Friday are as follows: students and adults $10; children under the age of 12 and senior citizens $8. Tickets for Saturday are $10 for everyone with the exception of children under the age of 12. These will be $8.
