Five Mother Seton Students Named National Merit Scholarship Commended Students

These students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition.

This release was submitted by Mother Seton Regional High School.

Sister Regina Martin, Principal of Mother Seton Regional High School in Clark, announced that Caitilin Conroy (Scotch Plains), AnnMary Hanna (Union), Jessica Leszczyk (Fords), Danielle Pfleghaar (Colonia) and Zinalenia Sockwell (Newark) have been named as commended students in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

A letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, is presented to these academically talented seniors.

These students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Sister Regina presented letters of commendation to each of these seniors at Mother Seton.  “These seniors follow a rigorous Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors Level curriculum at Mother Seton. They are actively involved in many extra-curricular activities as well as service opportunities sponsored through our Mother Seton community” stated Sister Regina.

Caitilin Conroy is a graduate of Saint Bartholomew School (Scotch Plains), AnnMary Hanna is a graduate of Saint Michael School (Union), Jessica Leszczyk is a graduate of Assumption Catholic School (Perth Amboy) and Danielle Pfleghaar is a graduate of Black Mountain Middle School in California.
