Senior Citizen Council of Union County's Driver Safety Program

The Senior Citizen Council of Union County in conjunction with AARP will present a Driver Safety Program on September 14 at Ehrhart Gardens located at 100 Francis Court in Union.

The AARP Driver Safety Program allows seniors to refresh their skills as well as qualify for lower auto insurance rates.

The Class runs six hours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will have morning, afternoon and lunch breaks. Attendees will learn current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. They'll also learn adjustments to accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. Upon completing the course, participants may be eligible for auto insurance discounts and a reduction of 2 points off their drivers' licenses.
