Open House - Mothers’ Center of Central New Jersey

The Mothers’ Center of Central New Jersey (MCCNJ) will hold its Spring Open House on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.  The Open House will take place at the Garwood Presbyterian Church, located at 341 Spruce Avenue in Garwood.  This spring’s Open House is a very exciting one for MCCNJ!  We are offering new courses and promoting our first annual 5K fundraiser!  The launch of our new web site is another exciting event for the center this spring.

The Open House offers new members an opportunity to meet current members and sign up for spring activities the Center offers.  Activities this spring include mom and baby playgroups, Zumba, book club, mom and baby yoga, and “messy art” for kids.

We are also proud to announce three exclusive new offerings this spring.  Our first feature is Designed for Wellness, DfW is an 8 week course where women steadily gain insights into how their body works, form new habits to best nourish and care for themselves and experience a whole new level of health and vitality.  This group was created and will be taught by Lysa Byrne MPH CHHC founder of WellGrounded Life (www.WellGroundedLife.com).

Second this spring, our national organization brings us the Mind in the Making.  This discussion group will explore research on children’s learning from birth through the early elementary school years, and about how to use this research to help our children thrive.  Our topics will be based on the essential life skills discussed in the book "Mind in the Making" by Ellen Galinsky and videos of the top researchers the book cites. And finally, one of our own Mothers’ Center members will be offering a four week budgeting course designed to help busy moms manage their finances and get a handle on daily spending habits.

At this year’s spring Open House MCCNJ will be promoting our first annual 5K and Kids’ Fun Run fundraiser.  This event is being held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, NJ.  All proceeds will benefit MCCNJ.  For more information, please visit the center’s website, which is newly redesigned for this spring’s open house event, http://cnj.motherscenter.org/ .
