Job Seekers Workshop at Union County College

Hone your career development through specialized training in resume writing and interview techniques through two workshops at Union County College.

The workshops are designed to assist those wishing to advance their careers, those who have lost jobs, and those just beginning a new career. Recent college graduates are also welcome.

The workshops are presented in an interactive, participatory manner with ample opportunity to address individual concerns.

“Make Your Resume Work for You” will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24. It will cover effective resume writing,  resume styles, preparing electronic resumes to be scanned into corporate databases and preparing cover letters.

“Developing Confidence for the Job Interview” will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31.  It will cover how to prepare for an employment interview, trick questions that are often asked,  questions that the applicant also should ask, negotiating for salary, multiple interviews, internal interviews, body language, closing the interview and role playing.
