Education Foundation of Garwood Announces Slate for 2012-2013

The EFG is also looking for candidates to serve on the board of trustees.

The Education Foundation of Garwood (EFG) is pleased to announce the new slate of officers for the 2012-2013 year. The slate is as follows: President-Tracey Roland, Vice President-Sara Todisco, Treasurer-Stephen Napolitano and Secretary-Adele Lewis.

The EFG is also seeking energetic new members eager to serve on its Board of Trustees. The EFG Board of Trustees is comprised of a group of individuals whose goal it is to ensure that the Garwood school district remains among the very best in the state and the region. This is achieved through the funding of grants for enrichment programs that focus on technology, creative writing and reading, and fine arts. Some recent programs that have received funding from EFG grants include enhanced technology, contributions to the expanding Character Education curriculum and the annual scholarships to assist worthy Garwood students.

The key to the past and future success of the EFG lies within the active participation of all members of the board of trustees. EFG board members attend board meetings, serve on at least one committee, and participate in fundraising activities. A commitment of three years ensures continuity of experience on the board.

The Education Foundation of Garwood welcomes all interested parties to submit his/her name and contact information along with a short statement of why they would like to join the board of trustees to at EFG@garwoodschools.org or to the EFG box located in the office of the Lincoln School.
