Clark School District Staff to Present at Statewide Conference

Each October the largest professional workshop for educators takes place in Atlantic City, the New Jersey School Boards Association Workshop; visited by approximately 10,000 educational leaders representing superintendents, board of education members, and other school leaders.

One of the highlights at the conference is a series of workshops called “Celebration of Curriculum.”  These workshops represent presentations by teachers and administrators of current best practices in the field of curriculum and instruction, programs that are deemed to be among most innovative and successful in the state by the Professional Development Committee of the New Jersey School Boards Association, the organization that selects presenters for the conference each year.

This coming October the Clark School District will have an unprecedented number of presenters, 15, facilitating 13 different Celebration of Curriculum Workshops. This number represents the most presenters and workshops of any district in the State of New Jersey.  The presenters include Clark Preschool Teachers Valerie LaManna and Mary Lillis; Frank K. Hehnly School teachers Erika Barrett and Ann Marie Estevez; Valley School teachers Jenna Stafford, Erin Reilly, Jennifer Kelleher, Melissa Sakowski, Jennifer Wilkinson, and Amy DiFrancesco; Carl H. Kumpf Middle School teacher Nicole Mailloux; and administrators Joe Beltramba, Ed Grande, Richard Delmonaco, and Colleen Gialanella.

Clark Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Knops stated he was delighted with the selection of so many staff from the district to present at the statewide New Jersey School Boards Association Workshop, “I find it very impressive and a positive reflection of our staff and their abilities to create new, innovative, and creative programming ideas.  It’s amazing to realize that of approximately 550 districts in the state, the Clark Schools will present 13 of the 35  of total Celebration of Curriculum Workshops.  This is a testament to the talents of our staff, who are always interesting in pursuing new and innovative vehicles to deliver the curriculum.  I’m proud of our staff, their selection as presenters at this prestigious workshop is a richly deserved honor.”
