Clark Board of Education Welcomes New Teachers to District

Seven new teachers were introduced to the board before they start next year.

Sure, school is out for the year, but some people, including the new hires introduced at the Board of Education meeting, are already looking forward to next year's start.

The Clark Board of Education approved the hiring of seven new teachers, plus two teachers to fill in for maternity leave, for the 2012-2013 academic year at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Superintendent Ken Knops introduced the new hires and each thanked the Board for the opportunity to work in the district.

The eight new teachers’ contracts will be effective Sept. 1, the first day of the school year for teachers.

  • Laura Bundy - PE teacher at ALJ
  • Jacqualina Grigoli - teacher at Valley Road School
  • Nicole Parlavecchio - Special Education teacher at Hehnly
  • Cristina Faro - Mathematics teacher at Kumpf
  • Nicole Mailloux - Language Arts teacher at Kumpf
  • Jennifer Bartolomio - Special Education teacher at Kumpf
  • Megan Price - First grade teacher at Hehnly

“The administration in both the schools and the central office has been very busy interviewing candidates for the various vacancies in the district," said Knops. "We’ve put good time into the screening process and have come out with great candidates."

Knops congratulated each teacher and welcomed him or her into the district. 

The board also approved board administrators, safety patrol supervisors, athletic coaches, play directors and other officials who renewed their contracts for the upcoming school year in an attempt to line up the staff prior to the summer.
