ALJ's Booster Club Presents College Recruiting Expert – Plus, Grass Pickup Begins

Five things you need to know today, Monday, May 2.

  1. ALJ High School Booster Club presents an important, informative program for student athletes and their parents tonight at 7 p.m. at ALJ. Spend an evening with recruitment guru Jack Renkens as he "explodes the myths and presents the realities of college recruiting." This program is designed for every high school athlete in every sport.
  2. Spring grass clipping pickup for Clark residents begins today, May 2, and will continue each Monday throughout the grass cutting season except for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Grass will be collected on each Tuesday following these holidays. Recycling pickup is scheduled town-wide in Clark today, and bulky waste pickup for ward one residents who registered in advance will also take place this morning. All waste should be placed curbside before 7 a.m. for pick up.
  3. Clark Town Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, room 30.
  4. Anxious to get your gardens blooming?  Today is the final day to participate in ALJ’s Class of 2013 Plant and Bulb Sale fundraiser.  Check out the tremendous variety and discount pricing on plants and flowers in the online catalog. Fifty percent of all sales will be donated back to ALJ’s sophomore class.
  5. Looking for a worthwhile volunteer opportunity? , an organization that delivers fresh, hot meals to local elderly and homebound residents is looking for weekday drivers, 10:45 a.m. to noon. Volunteers can choose which day or days. If interested, email emurphy13@comcast.net.
