ALJ Fall Athletes Earn Booster Club Awards

Athletes, parents and coaches gathered to honor the teams and individuals for their accomplishments.

Arthur L. Johnson High School fall athletes were introduced and presented with varsity letters and MVP awards in front of a full house on Tuesday. Athletic Director Gus Kalikas introduced special guests including new ALJ Assistant Principal Travis Smith.

Coaches took the time to recap their seasons and speak about most students individually, recognizing their personal contributions to their teams. Players received either their first, second, third or fourth (gold) letter for playing a varsity sport in the fall season. On hand were coaches and players representing Johnson football, boys and girls soccer, tennis, cheerleading, boys and girls cross country track, volleyball, gymnastics and field hockey. Gold letter winners were: Tyler Faede (soccer), Danielle Kovach (tennis), Jenna Rose Fraser (cross country), Nicolas Buccarelli (cross country), Nicole Imbriaco (field hockey), Taylor Foster (volleyball), and Samantha Bruno, Alexa Cupo and Taylor McSorley (cheerleading).

Principal Richard Delmonaco presented the Scholar-Athlete Award for the season to senior Nicole Imbiaco who excelled in field hockey while maintaining the highest GPA. At the end of the program, Most Valuable Player awards were presented by Booster Club President, Pat Campione, for each sport. The recipients of MVP awards are:
