The Windsor Diner Gets Fifteen Minutes of Fame Today and What to Do This Weekend

Five things you need to know today, Friday, April 15.

  1. The has been broadcasting from diners all over New Jersey this spring, and today they roll into Clark! All are welcome to join the fun at the Windsor Diner on Raritan Road in Clark as Dennis & Judi pull up the Big Yellow Van stuffed full of prizes and  broadcast their show on site live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
  2. It’s Easter Egg Hunt time! Kids can hunt for Easter treats and win prizes tomorrow at noon in both Clark and Garwood.  for three age leveled Easter egg hunts.  All participants will receive a free gift, plus raffle tickets for a chance to win more prizes. Rain date is April 17. Clark will host its . Take pictures with the Easter Bunny, decorate a basket, hunt for prize-filled eggs, enter the coloring contest, and enjoy cookies, juice and candy. All kids are also eligible to win the grand prize.  Also in Clark on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offers children, families and pets free photos with the Easter Bunny, plus a free pack of Silly Bands, JellyBelly Jelly Beans, chocolate Easter Eggs, balloons and a coloring contest. 
  3. On Sunday, the Clark Historical Society will reveal , the man behind the Dr. William Robinson Plantation museum, from noon to 4 p.m. Where did he come from? Did he have a family? What did he do? Come for a look back into the late 1600's and the people who lived here and how the area developed.  Tour the museum and learn about local history.  Admission is free.
  4. Inspire your young ones to become writers!  This Sunday, Clark Library hosts a free  Cynthia Chapman Willis, Irene Breznak, and Ann Malaspina from the Kidlit Authors Club. The authors will discuss creative writing and read from their books. Drawings for prizes and other fun activities will be included, and their books will be available for purchase and autograph.
  5. Come to Trailside Nature and Science Center on Saturday for a truly unique nature adventure at 1 p.m.  “s,” a two-hour foraging tour of the Watchung Reservation will  teach participants to identify, harvest ecologically and use many common, tasty, healthful, renewable mid-spring shoots, greens and herbs, otherwise considered “weeds, including such unwanted plants as lamb’s quarters, curly dock, common milkweed, pokeweed, sassafras, burdock and more.
