Summer Reading Logs Due at Garwood Library

Five things you need to know today, Monday, August 8.

  1. Garwood students who signed up for the Garwood Library Summer Reading Program, today is the last day to post your final summer reading totals at the library. If you read over the summer, make sure you log your time so you don't miss out on prizes and exciting closing events. Bring in your reading logs today by 8 p.m.
  2. pickup will take place this morning, as well as grass clipping collection and ward two bulky waste pickup for residents who scheduled a pickup. Residents should have all grass, recycling and bulky waste at the curb before 7 a.m.
  3. The Clark Recreation Center begins a weeklong children’s today. The tennis camp, suited for players at the beginner to intermediate level, has two daily, one-hour sessions beginning at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. Children must bring their own rackets. For information call (732) 563-2520.
  4. As part of the "You Are Here" summer reading program for teens, the Clark Library is hosting a free for students entering 6th through 12th grade today from 2 to 4 p.m. A variety of popular Anime films will be shown on the big movie screen and snacks will be served. Because of the Japanese Anime Film Festival, the weekly Monday afternoon movie at Clark Library is cancelled for today.
  5. St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Garwood begins its free, three-night “” Vacation Bible School program tonight from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Kids will attend the ultimate concert experience each day while rocking with The Go Fish Guys, then go backstage to tour the recording studio, talent discovery area, design sets, rehearse, and learn about the Bible. This program is open to all.
