Subway and bus lines will begin shutting down at about 12 p.m., about eight hours before New York City is expected to experience sustained winds of 39 mph, according to the MTA's website.

MTA bridges will close if winds reach sustained speeds of 60 mph, but they may close sooner if high winds are coupled with other weather-related conditions, such as flooding, according to the website. Each of the MTA's seven bridges and two tunnels will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Finally, there will be no scheduled pickups after 12 p.m. on Saturday, but Access-A-Ride will be be working with the Office of Emergency Management to provide vehicles for the evacuation for disabled residents. There also will be no Access-A-Ride service all-day Sunday or Monday morning.
