New Jersey Shipwreck Tales at the Garwood Library Today

Five things you need to know today, Tuesday, June 14.

  1. Seaside folklore enthusiasts, Garwood Library hosts a special lecture tonight about  at 7 p.m. Dan Lieb, president of New Jersey's Historical Diving Association, will speak about the sunken treasures in New Jersey’s waters, having participated in dozens of archeological investigations of wreck sites. Registration is required.
  2. Fourth and Fifth Graders from Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School in Clark present their annual tonight at 7 p.m.  The Concert Band, including fourth and fifth graders, will perform the instrumental portion of the show, and the fifth grade chorus will sing.  All are welcome; admission is free.
  3. convene tonight for their June meeting at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers of the Municipal Building.  The public is welcome to attend.  
  4. The meets at 7:00 p.m. in Clark Council Chambers for a Public Session meeting. Students will be recognized for outstanding academic and athletic achievement. Faculty and staff assignments as well as other business for the 2011-2012 school year will be voted on.
  5. Carlos Remolina, MD and Pulmonologist, will present "," a healthy living seminar tonight at RWJ Rahway Fitness and Wellness Center at 6 p.m.  The seminar is free and open to the public, but advance registration is requested. Call 732-499-6193.
