Letter to the Editor: Nierstedt and Palmer Thank Supporters

This letter was received by Garwood Democrats Bill Nierstedt and Ann Palmer.

Please accept this letter as a sincere thank you to everyone who played a role in our election to the Garwood Borough Council.

We thank the Garwood voters who believe in and voted for us.   We value the trust that you have placed in us, and look forward to advancing the improved government and municipal services that you advised us in our door-to-door, face to face conversations were important to you.  We listened, took notes, and will follow through as best we can.

We thank our Republican opponents, Tim Hak and Mike Martin, for waging a campaign that kept to a high standard.  Garwood political battles have always striven to be fought on a high, clean road with no personal attacks, lies, or negative advertising.  We thank Tim and Mike for keeping this campaign in the same tone.   We look forward to working with them in the future in whatever public service they choose to provide the Borough.

We thank everyone who worked on our campaign: committee members, family and friends.  We know how much time and effort –not to mention Sunday nights - that each member gave to support our campaign.  We hope that you all recognize that we could not have won without you.

We want to state our view that Democrats and Republicans only exist in Garwood during campaign seasons.  After that, we are all united fighting together with one goal – to make our Borough the best it can be.  We look forward to working with the Mayor and all Borough Council members to make Garwood a better place for all of us.   

Finally, due to the severity of recent storms, many of our supporters removed their political signs from their lawns.  Please call Charles Lombardo at 908-789-0508 so that we can pick them up. 

Again, we thank you all, sincerely, for your support and vote of confidence.  We will do our absolute best to be worthy of your trust.
