Kumpf's Eighth Grade Dance and Relay For Life Tonight

Five things you need to know today, Friday, June 10.

  1. Eighth grade students from Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark will don their fancy dresses and heels and formal suits tonight to celebrate an annual rite of passage from middle school to high school: the .  The theme for the evening's festivities, taking place at Gran Centurions in Clark, is "An Evening in Paris." 
  2. Clark residents will come together tonight to continue the fight against cancer at “,” 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow. Teams will camp out around the ALJ High School track, symbolically keeping at least one team member per team walking the track throughout the event. Relay for Life furthers the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives, raising money to help people get well, stay well, find cures and fight back against cancer.
  3. Children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to the Clark Library's today at 3:15 p.m.  Kids will create their own unique structures, have fun exercising their creativity and enjoy a light snack.  To register, go to www.clarklibrary.org.
  4. Parishioners from St. Agnes Church in Clark will gather tomorrow, June 11, at L'affaire in Mountainside for . Special guests parishioners will remember will be attending this formal affair. Reservations are required. Call the parish office at 732-388-7852.
  5. Cranford Guitar Center will be holding its 3rd annual at the Crossroads in Garwood this Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Performances will include solos, duets, full bands, and teacher-led performances. Selections will include traditional folk music and contemporary rock to classical compositions. All are welcome. Tickets are $5 (under 12 free).
