Garwood Mayor Seeks Volunteers for Rec., Celebrations, Community Emergency Response Team

Serve the borough as a volunteer.

This release was submitted by Garwood Mayor Patricia Quattrocchi.

At the start of each year one of the duties that the mayor has is to review the lists of committee and board appointees, there are over 60 positions not to include council assignments. Vacancies are created for any number of reasons and without a sufficient number of members some may cease to operate.

“Presently I am seeking community oriented volunteers to fill openings on the Public Celebrations Committee and the Recreation Commission” reports Mayor Patricia Quattrocchi, ”no special experience is required just a desire to meet your fellow Garwood residents and help plan activities for the community.”

Of a more serious nature, the borough is also in the process of creating a Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) and seeking volunteers to serve in the event a natural or man-made crisis situation occurs in the borough. Those residents who are interested in learning how they can serve the community should contact the mayor directly at borough hall, 908-789-0710 or by email at pquattrocchi@garwood.org
