Clark Pop Warner Hosts Casino Night Tonight

Five Things You Need to Know Today, Friday, September 23

  1. Clark Pop Warner, Clark’s recreational youth football and cheerleading league, will host a tonight at the Kenilworth VFW Post 2230 on South 21st Street in Kenilworth from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission of $75 includes playing chips for casino games such as roulette, craps and poker, food, beer, wine and soda. Poker chips will be redeemed for raffle tickets to win valuable prizes. For more information email Tjk374@aol.com.
  2. The will be held tonight at the Knights’ Council Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. The dinner, catered by Thistles of Kearny, includes a fish dinner, French fries, cole slaw, dessert, soft drinks and coffee. Dine in or take out. For information call 908-789-9809. All are welcome.

The Union County Parks Department hosts its 34th annual at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside tomorrow, Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fishing tackle and bait will be provided and a clown and magic show will entertain all. Lunch will be available and prizes will be awarded. Pre-register by calling 908-527-4806. Volunteers are welcome and needed. Rain Date: Sunday, September 25.
  4. this Sunday, September 25. Bring a lawn chair, picnic blanket and camera and join the congregation on the great lawn for an all-you-can-eat barbeque. Admission ($12 for adults, $7 for children 4 to 11) includes full picnic menu, watermelon, soda, beer and wine. Enjoy games and prizes for kids and adults, a 50/50, DJ music, a homemade pie contest and (nut free) dessert sharing table. Make a scarecrow, see early American life demonstrations, Native American artifacts, a Petting Zoo, live musicians and storytellers and much more. Admission is $4; age 7 and under are free. All are welcome. Visitors are also asked to bring donations of new personal care items such as toothpaste, shaving cream, diapers etc. to help replenish Union County’s emergency shelters, which were depleted in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.
