Clark-Garwood 2013 Primary Results

In Garwood, Republicans Mathieu and Martin were the top vote-getters in the race for two council seats.

It was a low turnout for Tuesday's primary with only 6 percent of Clark voters and 12 percent of Garwood voters casting their ballots.

The contested Republican borough council primary seemed to bring out more voters in Garwood. Incumbent Jim Mathieu and candidate Mike Martin were the top two vote-getters and will appear on the November ballot in the race for two borough council seats. Mathieu, on the outs with his party, ran as a Conservative Republican and received the most votes of the three candidates. Martin, who was also a candidate in the 2012 election, ran within the Regular Garwood GOP along with runner-up Steven Blaufeder. Read more about that race:
