Clark Councilmembers Bag Groceries For Hunger

Officials participated in ShopRite Partners in Caring day.

The Clark ShopRite held its Partners in Caring Day 2011 on Thursday. Councilwoman Angel Albanese and Councilmen Richard Kazanowski and Brian Toal helped bagged groceries for this annual event, held by ShopRite. In exchange for their hard bagging work, the baggers accepted monetary donations – shoppers could add donations to their total at the checkout – to help fill shelves of community food banks.

One local food bank organization, L.I.N.C.S, Linden Interfaith Network for Community Services, was also on hand to help bag and raise donations.

The Clark ShopRite raised more than $6,500 in food and dontions last year. Overall, the program has raised more than 17 million dollars donated to more than 17,000 organizations across the country.
