American Rapture Kicks Off Union County Summer Concerts

Five things you need to know today, Wednesday, July 6.

  1. Union County kicks off its Summer Arts Festival Concert Series tonight with a free concert in Echo Lake Park, off Springfield Avenue in Mountainside.  performs at 7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, sit back, relax and enjoy a summer night outdoors. Visit www.ucnj.org/parkeventssite for details. All are welcome.
  2. Clark Library’s free Wednesday afternoon movie, The , will be shown today at 1:00 p.m.  This film won the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ Academy Award. The movie is in Spanish with English subtitles.  All are welcome.
  3. The Garwood Free Public Library Committee will hold its at the library tonight at 8 p.m.  Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. 
  4. Clark Pool members, take a break from the water with your little ones from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. today.  and songs with a water theme.  This program, open to pool members and their guests only, is geared toward preschoolers with their adult companions, but all are welcome to participate.  
  5. The Senior Citizens Club of Clark has opened registration for their fall taking place on Wed., Oct. 5. All are welcome to sign up for the trip. Register early to reserve your space.  Lively entertainment, dancing, a shopping boutique, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, round trip transportation and a full-course luncheon are included in the $65 cost per person.
