Westfield Student Missing Near Terminal Avenue, Clark and State Police Assisting With Search

Westfield police are actively searching for a student who jumped from a school bus and fled Tuesday morning.

Westfield Police Chief David Wayman and Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb confirmed that police are actively searching for a student of a Westfield school who is missing.

According to reports, a 15-year-old male jumped off a school bus and fled Tuesday morning in the area of Lamberts Mill Road and Rahway Avenue.

While police would not confirm which school the student attends, a spokesperson for the Westfield public school district confirmed that student does not attend a Westfield public school nor is a Westfield resident.

State police and Clark Police and Fire departments are assisting in search, using helicopters and boats. A National Guard helicopter is also now searching the area.
