[VIDEO] Press Conference Reveals Timeline of Kai's Whereabouts, Further Details on Clark Murder

Police allege the murder of Joseph Galfy, 73, was committed by Internet celeb Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, 24, better known as Internet sensation "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker" on YouTube and Facebook.

Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow revealed Thursday new details about the alleged murder of Joseph Galfy, 73, by Internet celeb Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, 24, better known as Internet sensation "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker" on YouTube and Facebook.

At a Thursday afternoon press conference, Romankow explained that Galfy picked up McGillvary in Times Square on Saturday, May 11, and that McGillvary stayed overnight at Galfy's home on Starlite Drive before leaving for Asbury Park.

McGillvary returned to Galfy's home later that day and allegedly committed the murder. McGillvary then left and met up with two of his fans, who are providing information to police.

In a Tuesday post on his Facebook page, McGillvary alleges that he was drugged, raped and ejaculated on and asks readers, "what would you do?"

Romankow gave the following timeline of McGillvary's known whereabouts and the additional details about the murder:

- Saturday, May 11 - Galfy picked up McGillvary in Times Square and the two returned to Galfy’s home on Starlite Drive. McGillvary stayed the night.

- Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 12, 9:30 a.m. – Galfy took McGillvary to the Rahway train station where he traveled to Asbury Park. Later that day, McGillvary returned to the Rahway train station and texted Galfy to pick him up.

- McGillvary stayed overnight at Galfy’s home. At some point that evening, McGillvary called a fan (who police are referring to as “Fan 1”) and cancelled plans he had made with her for later that evening.

- Around 9 p.m., McGillvary called Fan 1 again and asked her to pick him up. She could not. Shortly after that, McGillvary’s phone went dead.

- Galfy was murdered on Sunday night. He was found Monday afternoon by police performing a welfare check. He was found in his bedroom in his underwear and socks, severely beaten.

- During the evening, McGillvary made his way back to Rahway train station, where he again took a train to Asbury Park. His whereabouts overnight on Sunday are unknown.

- Monday, May 13 – McGillvary meet up with Fan 1, had lunch and decided to go to Philadelphia and spend the day. Fan 1 took a picture of McGillvary and noticed he had cut his hair. (See the photo in our gallery.)

- McGillvary and Fan 1 returned to her home in Glassboro, but McGillvary was not permitted to stay by a relative. Fan 1 called another person (Fan 2) who agreed to let McGillvary stay with her.

-On Tuesday morning, Fan 2 took McGillvary to the Haddonfield train station where he boarded a train for Philadelphia. He is believed to be heading south, possibly to Georgia, where he indicated he was heading to see a girlfriend.

Other details from Thursday’s press conference:

-Police could not say how Galfy and McGillvary first came in contact and do not know the reason they connected. They are looking into the reason why. They did not find any correspondence between the two prior to their meeting and could not confirm whether Galfy was a fan of McGillvary.

-Police are aware McGillvary’s claim of being drugged and raped that he posted on Facebook.

- McGillvary was last seen in Haddonfield, where he boarded a train to Philly, and is believed to be heading south, possibly to Georgia. Based on the investigation, authorities know that McGillvary has cut his hair in an attempt to alter his appearance. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

-Correspondence between Galfy and McGillvary was through text messages.

-Police could not say whether there were items missing from Galfy’s home.

-Police could not confirm that Galfy was killed with McGillvary’s hatchet.

- Based on evidence, police believe the state will be able to prove the murder beyond a reasonable doubt.

-Police could not say whether or not McGillvary is being investigated for any similar incidents, but are looking into his travels.

- Fan 1 had met McGillvary through the Internet. Police don’t believe the fans were involved in the murder and noted that they have been very cooperative.

- One of the fans said she was shocked that McGillvary had reached out to her and had not met him previously.

- McGillvary is no longer using the phone he was using to text Galfy.

- McGillvary has a tattoo on the right side of his face and neck. (See a photo of it in our gallery.)

- Romankow noted that Galfy was well-respected and well-liked and has worked as an attorney for more than 40 years.

The Union County Crime Stoppers unit is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of McGillvary.
