The Garwood Blotter: Police Make Two DWI Arrests

April 30, 1:52 a.m. – Sgt. Rocco and P.O. Czachorowski were on patrol when they observed a beige Toyota Corolla heading east on the 100 block of North Avenue cross over the double yellow lines. The officers initiated a motor vehicle stop and the investigation found that the driver, Michael Dippolito, 22, from Westfield, was operating the car under the influence of alcohol. Dippollito was placed under arrest and transported to HQ where he was processed and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) and other motor vehicle summons. Dippolito was released with a pending a court date.                

May 5, 10:22 p.m. – Sgt. Morelli reported a possible disabled motor vehicle being pushed by the driver on the 400 block of South Avenue. P.O. Kleinsorgen responded and further investigation found that the driver of the vehicle, Carlos Gallardo-Bejar, 53, from Edison, was under the influence of alcohol and he was placed under arrest. Gallardo-Bejar was transported to HQ where he was processed. Gallardo-Bejar was charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated) and refusing to submit breath samples as well as additional motor vehicle summons. Gallardo-bejar was released with a pending court date.
