High Steaks? Garwood Police Looking for Filet Mignon Smuggler

The Garwood Police Department provided the following arrest information. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Garwood Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred Feb. 16 at the where video surveillance provided by Kings Security showed a white male between the ages of 30 and 40 put two filet mignon roasts (valued at $270) in bags and leave the store without paying for them. Anyone with information should contact the Garwood Police Department at 908-789-1500.

Feb. 15, 12:52 p.m. – Officer Herz performed a motor-vehicle stop in the 100 block of South Ave., upon his investigation the driver Jamar Turner, 28, from Plainfield, was arrested and charged with possesion of controlled dangerous substances, possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle, obstructed view and disregard of a traffic signal. Turner was released with a February court date.
 
Feb. 15, 12:52 p.m. – Officer Chudy performed a motor-vehicle stop in the 100 block of North Ave., upon his investigation the driver Marcus Williams, 26, from Hillside was arrested and charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Williams was released with a February court date.

Feb. 20 – The Garwood Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred in a parking lot on Chestnut Court. An unknown person smashed the side window of a vehicle and took a Garmin GPS unit and a cell phone then fled the area. Feb. 21 – The Garwood Police Department is investigating a report from a Winslow Avenue resident that an unknown person stole a bicycle from the garage at the rear of his residence. Anyone with information should contact the Garwood Police Department at 908-789-1500.

Feb. 22, 1:22 p.m. – Officer Chudy performed a motor-vehicle stop in the 400 block of South Ave. Upon his investigation, the driver and two occupants were arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substance. Arrested were Clervoyant Mchenhley, 19, Elizabeth and Brian Perez, 21, from Elizabeth, who were charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance. The driver, Floyd Cheyenne, 19, from Scotch Plains, was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, improper display of plates, obstructed view, improper mirrors and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. The suspects were released with a February court date.
