The Clark Blotter: Clark Resident Arrested for Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Clark Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Clark police activity from Feb. 11 - 18, 2013:

Possession

Feb. 14, 1:34 a.m. – In the vicinity of Williams Street, police arrested Steven Viana, age 25, single, a waiter of 135 Briarheath Lane in Clark for possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Viana was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Daniel Joy was the arresting officer.

Feb. 16, 6:20 p.m. – In the vicinity of the Garden State Parkway northbound ramp, police arrested Anthony Nieto, age 23, single, an auto mechanic of 35 Hawthorne Avenue in Springfield for possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) with intent to distribute and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Also arrested was Christopher Farinhas, age 24, single, a TV technician of 240 Oliver Street in Newark for possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Both men were subsequently released on their own recognizance pending court dates. Christopher Tuccio was the arresting officer.

Feb. 17, 11:15 p.m. – In the vicinity of Westfield Avenue, police arrested William Hedden, age 26, single, a sales clerk of 11 Lowell Street in Carteret for possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) with intent to distribute and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Hedden was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Kenneth Gaulette was the arresting officer.

Theft of Items from a Motor Vehicle

Feb. 15, 10:44 p.m. – Police took a report of a theft of items from a motor vehicle, which was parked at Retro Fitness, 225 Terminal Avenue. The incident is under investigation. Marty Venezio was the investigating officer.

Feb. 18, 3:43 p.m. – Police took a report of a theft of items from a motor vehicle, which was parked at Retro Fitness, 225 Terminal Avenue. The incident is under investigation. Christopher Tuccio was the investigating officer.

Criminal Mischief to a Motor Vehicle

Feb. 15, 3:28 p.m. – Police took a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle, which was parked at a residence at 6 Prospect Street. The incident is under investigation. Marty Venezio was the investigating officer.

Shoplifting

Feb. 12, 3:21 p.m. – At 76 Central Avenue, police arrested Robert Paton, age 45, single, unemployed of 26 Riverview Terrace in Winfield Park for shoplifting from the ShopRite Supermarket at 76 Central Avenue. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Martin Venezio was the arresting officer.

Feb. 16, 3:52 p.m. – At 76 Central Avenue, police arrested Marc Perrette, age 30, single, unemployed of 206 Elm Street in Cranford for shoplifting from the ShopRite Supermarket at 76 Central Avenue. Perrette was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Thomas Sarnecki was the arresting officer.

Warrant Arrests

Feb. 18, 11:24 p.m. – In the vicinity of 108 Central Avenue, police arrested Jabril Johnson, age 27, single, unemployed of 134 Columbia Avenue in Newark on an outstanding warrant totaling $4,093.98 from the Camden County Sheriff’s Department. Johnson was subsequently turned over to the Camden County Sheriff’s Department. Kenneth Gaulette was the arresting officer.
